Sludge Management

Most metal plating and finishing wastewater treatment processes produce a by-product known as metal hydroxide sludge. Once metals and organic materials are removed by physical/chemical treatment the resulting sludge must be removed for safe disposal. The process of dewatering, as the name suggests, is the removal of some of the water content in order to reduce the weight of the sludge, regain useful water, or capture valuable resources from the sludge.
