The company
Our spectrum ranges from fresh water treatment and chemical-physical wastewater treatment to recycling and reuse cycles. Filtration, ion exchangers (IX), reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), UV oxidation (UO),
and vacuum evaporators are used depending on the task – technically correct and economically viable.
In addition to the plant technology, we supply customized treatment plans with recommended wastewater treatment chemicals. These are accompanied by laboratory and jar tests, precise dosing concepts and continuous process optimization.
Our service and aftersales offering includes SLA-supported maintenance, reliable spare parts supply, on-site and remote support, training, upgrades and retrofits – modular and flexibly scalable.

Highlights of the past years
Company history of aqua plus
Company history of aqua plus
1994
Foundation in a private house
aqua plus Wasser- und Recyclingsysteme GmbH was founded in September 1994 on the upper floor of Walter Baur’s private home. The founding team consisted of Walter Baur and Günter Nowak as managing directors and Uli Müller as project engineer. As early as October 1994, Sonja Kiemel was added to the team to take over the accounting tasks – an important step for the organization of the young company.
96/97
Move to Spraitbach
As the order situation increased, aqua plus moved to the neighboring town of Spraitbach. The company also rented its own workshop premises there for the first time, and the recruitment of a fitter marked the start of the development of the technical field service.
2000
Further expansion - Lorch-Waldhausen site
The next important milestone was the move to Lorch-Waldhausen. Here, the premises were expanded once again, enabling further growth. During this phase, the company grew to twelve employees and significantly expanded its capacities in project planning, assembly and service.
2010
Relocation to Böbingen an der Rems
On January 1, 2010, the company moved to its current headquarters in Böbingen an der Rems. With modern premises and expanded technical capabilities, the foundation was laid for aqua plus’ current performance. The Böbingen site is still the center of the company’s activities today.
2020
ISO certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015
With the certification of our management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, we have reached an important milestone in quality assurance. The award confirms that our company successfully applies a comprehensive quality management system for consulting, planning, project planning, delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance of water treatment systems – and therefore meets the highest standards in all areas of the company.
2023
Takeover by MacDermid
In April 2023, aqua plus was acquired by MacDermid. As no internal company succession was possible, the takeover provided a stable solution for the continuation of the company and opened up new strategic perspectives.
2025
Management buyout
aqua plus was most recently part of the ESI Group (MacDermid environment). A management buy-out was successfully completed in 2025; since then, the company has been operating independently again – with short communication channels, a clear focus and even closer proximity to customers and partners.
